NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended an invitation to German businesses to invest in India, highlighting that there is no better time or place for investment. Speaking at the 18th Asia-Pacific Conference of German Business 2024, he emphasized that this is a prime opportunity to join India’s growth story.

During his address, PM Modi stressed the importance of foreign investment in India, urging German firms to participate in the "Make in India" initiative and contribute to manufacturing for global markets. He noted that the trust Germany has shown in India's skilled workforce is significant, particularly as the country plans to increase visas for skilled Indian workers from 20,000 to 90,000.

"This is the right time to join India's growth story... India is becoming a global trade and manufacturing hub," Modi said. He highlighted that India is built on strong foundations of democracy, demography, demand, and data. Additionally, he pointed out that the nation is making record investments in infrastructure, including roads and ports, and that the Indo-Pacific region is crucial for the future of global trade.

Prime Minister Modi's call for German investment in India underscores the nation’s immense growth potential and vibrant economic landscape. By inviting German businesses to engage in initiatives like 'Make in India' and 'Make for the World,' he emphasizes the collaborative opportunities that lie ahead. As India positions itself as a global trade and manufacturing hub, the partnership with Germany could pave the way for mutual benefits, fostering innovation and expanding market access for both nations.
