PM Modi to launch the largest healthcare scheme on 127th Ambedkar Jayanti

On the occasion of 127th Birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the phase one of the Ayushman Bharat schemes. This aims at creating a healthy, prosperous and strong India. The first phase of Ayushman Bharat will see 1.5 Lakh such Centers being set up across the country.

The Prime Minister will also launch Health and Wellness Centre under Ayushman Bharat scheme in Jangala village of Bijapur district. This health and wellness centre will have the facility of teleconsultation. He will also be visiting the Jangala Development Hub that is situated in a model panchayat. He will interact with 'Champions of Change' including villagers and officials of the district administration. Prime Minister will also interact with workers at a rural BPO.

He will also inaugurate a local branch of State Bank of India. 9 such branches have been planned for Bijapur. 18 post offices will also be set up in Bijapur. Inauguration of the Delhi-Rajhara-Bhanupratapur rail line via video conference is also on the agenda.

First, creating a network of Health and Wellness Centres to deliver comprehensive primary health care close to the community, and second, providing insurance cover to 40 percent of India's population, that is most deprived, for secondary and tertiary care including, for instance, hospitalization costs.

PM Modi will also visit an Anganwadi and will also distribute a Tamarind de-seeding machines.

Bijapur has overcome several challenges like Left-wing extremism to be ranked among the top 5 performing districts on the basis of percent change in key indicators. This has been possible through innovative measures adopted. In short span of time, it has made spectacular progress in health, nutrition, education and creation of livelihood opportunities. The Centre-State and District administration have worked in tandem to achieve these results.

The Prime Minister's visit to Bijapur gives wings to the aspirations of people in the remotest parts of India to become a rightful partner in India's growth story.
