PM Modi lays the foundation stone of National Centre for Aging

New Delhi [India], Jun 29 (NT): Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the National Centre for Aging at All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi here on Friday.

The ward, with around 200 beds centre, will grant Multi-Speciality healthcare to the older people.

The Prime Minister also inaugurated the 555 bed Super Speciality Block in Safdarjung Hospital.

Apart from this, healso dedicated 500 bedded New Emergency Block in Safdarjung and 300 bedded Power Grid Vishram Sadan in AIIMS.

Connection Motorable Tunnel between AIIMS, Ansari Nagar and Trauma Centre also opened by the hands of prime minister today.

This tunnel will cut down the distance to arrive at the trauma centre and the critical patients can be easily transferred from the hospital to the trauma centre in just five minutes. Earlier it took 30 minutes.

PM Modi in his address told that his Government putting efforts for New India initiative where Excellent doctor and facilities will be available.

"Seeing the increasing pressure on AIIMS, we are increasing facilities at all of its campuses. Today foundation stone of National Centre for Aging, which will be built at a cost of Rs 300 crore was laid. This will have 200 beds" : PM Narendra Modi

He added that BJP-led Center Govt is upgrading 58  districts hospitals as a medical colleges .

The constriction of the tunnel was commenced in 2012 and costs 40 crore rupees. (NT)
