Bengaluru: On Friday, Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy, asserting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is demolishing country's democracy, urged the opposition parties to expose the truth of the former in the Parliament.

While he was addressing the media ahead of the state budget presentation, Kumaraswamy said, “He (PM) is systemically demolishing this country's democracy, misleading the people, I request all the Opposition parties to rise. They must expose the truth of the Prime Minister in the Parliament.” Kumaraswamy further accused PM Modi of encouraging his friends to demolish democracy through black money, adding that he has the evidence to back his charge.

The Karnataka CM added that  “On one side Narendra Modi is preaching to the country and politicians, on the other side, he is encouraging his friends to demolish democracy through black money. I will expose this now, I have the proof to back my charge,”. On Thursday, Prime Minister Modi hit out at the opposition parties for joining hands to take on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Earlier, Speaking in the Lok Sabha, the Prime Minister called the “mahagatbandhan” (grand-alliance) a “mahamilawat” (adulteration). PM Modi said, referring to the rally held by 23 oppostion parites in West Bengal last month "The people of India have seen the work of NDA. And now, they (the opposition) are trying to form a government of 'mahamilawat'. People do not want a 'mahamilawat' government of those who assembled in Kolkata,”.
