Shirdi (Maharashtra) [India], Oct 19 (NT): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday landed in Shirdi and visited the well-known Sai Baba place of pilgrimage here.

PM Modi paid his obeisance at the Samadhi Temple of Sai Baba before taking part in rituals at sanctum sanctorum of the Saibaba Samadhi Temple Complex.

Following his journey later in the day, the Prime Minister will reveal the plaque to mark the laying of a foundation stone for diverse development works of the Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust.

PM Modi will also release a silver coin to observe the centenary year of Shri Saibaba Samadhi.

Prime Minister Modi also addressed a public meeting where he handed over keys to the beneficiaries of the housing scheme Prime Minister Awas Yojana- Grameen (PMAY-G). PM Modi was present at the e- Griha Pravesh ceremony for 40,000 Beneficiaries under PM Awas Yojana.

Prime Minster Modi will also lay the foundation Stone of developmental Projects Worth  Rupees 475 Crore.

The Sai Darshan building project will have 12 halls designed to accommodate more than 18,000 devotees.

The Sai Baba trust celebrated the centenary year of Sai Baba's Mahasamadhi from October 1, 2017 to October 18, 2018.
