Ahmedabad: PM Narendra Modi addressed 'Khadi Utsav' from Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad during his Gujarat tour. During this, PM Modi said that he is sure that everyone present here and everyone watching this event will be feeling the energy of this 'Khadi festival.' He said that India has given a very beautiful gift to its freedom fighters by doing 'Khadi Utsav' today in the Amrit Festival of Independence. He informed that today the new building of Gujarat State Khadi Village Industries Board and the grand Atal Bridge on the Sabarmati river have also been inaugurated.

Along with this, PM Modi, while wishing the people of Gujarat, said that the Atal Bridge is not only connecting the two banks of the Sabarmati river but is also unprecedented in design and innovation. He said that the famous kite festival of Gujarat has also been taken care of in its design. PM Modi said that history is witnessed that a thread of Khadi became the power of the freedom movement, it broke the chains of slavery.

PM Modi said that the same thread of Khadi can become a source of inspiration to fulfil the promise of a developed India and to realize the dream of self-reliant India. PM Modi said that a few days ago the whole country including Gujarat celebrated Amrit Mahotsav with great enthusiasm on the completion of 75 years of independence. He told how in Gujarat too, we all have seen pictures of the tricolour from village to village, street to street, every house with enthusiasm, zeal for the tricolour and the tricolour in the mind, body and the tricolour, the spirit too.

PM Modi said, 'I want to repeat 'Panch Prana' again. 1- the goal of making a developed India, 2- completely abandoning the slavery mentality, 3- proud of our heritage, 4- strenuous effort to increase the unity of the nation, 5- the duty of every citizen today's 'Khadi festival' in there is also a beautiful reflection of Pancha Prana. The Khadi which Gandhiji made India's self-respect during the freedom movement, the same Khadi was filled with inferiority complex after independence. Due to this, Khadi and village industries related to Khadi were completely destroyed. This condition of Khadi was very painful especially for Gujarat.

He said that this bank of Sabarmati has become blessed today because 7500 sisters and daughters together have created a new history by spinning yarn on a spinning wheel to commemorate 75 years of independence. It is my good fortune that I also got some moments to spin yarn. He said that his government not only added the resolve of Khadi for Transformation to Khadi for Nation, Khadi for Fashion, but also started spreading Gujarat's success experiences across the country. PM Modi said that, for the first time today, the turnover of Khadi and Village Industries of India has crossed one lakh crore rupees. Women power is also a major contributor to the growing strength of India's Khadi industry.
