New Delhi: On the occasion of the 74th Independence Day of the country, PM Narendra Modi while addressing the country from the orient of the Red Fort said that the world is believing India even in the Covid period. PM Modi said during this time that self-reliance has become the mantra of the countrymen of India. He said that 130 crore Indians have pledged to be self-sufficient during the Covid-19 epidemic. There is 'self-reliant India' in the mind of the entire country. This dream has been transformed into a vow. Today, self-reliant India has become the 'mantra' for 130 crore Indians. I am confident that India will make this dream come true. I believe in the ability and confidence of my fellow Hindus. Once we decide to do something, we do not rest until we have achieved that goal.
In the meantime, Prime Minister Modi said that the festival of freedom is an opportunity for us to remember the heroes of freedom and the energy of new resolutions. It brings new zeal, enthusiasm and inspiration to us. When we celebrate the coming festival of independence, we will enter the 75th year of independence. So this is a big opportunity for us. There was no such period of slavery when there was no attempt for freedom in any corner in India, there was no surrender. In a way, youth was spent in jails. We salute such heroes.
Earlier, Prime Minister Modi said that in this extraordinary time of Covid, our doctors, nurses, paramedical staff, ambulance personnel, sweepers, policemen, service personnel, many people, regardless of their lives, with the spirit of Seva Parmo Dharma. Working continuously round the clock. Today I also salute all such Covid Warriors. We are going through a different time. I cannot see the little children in front of me today (at the Red Fort). For the first time, PM Modi is giving a speech under a bullet proof glass.
