Chandigarh: PM Narendra Modi has reacted to Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi's "Bhaiya" remark. In Abohar, the PM said on Chief Minister Channi's statement- "The Congress has always fought the people of one area with another so that their car can run... Here, tell me the statement made by the Congress CM, on which the family of Delhi was standing with him and clapping. And the whole country saw it. Who are these people disrespecting with these statements?"

He said, "Who are these people insulting with their statements. There will be no such village here, where our brothers and sisters from UP or Bihar do not work hard." The Prime Minister said, "Was Sant Ravidas born in Punjab? He was born in Varanasi, UP. You say you will not allow 'Bhaiya' of UP to come (in Punjab). So did you reject Sant Ravidas as well? Will you delete his name? What language do you use?" The PM further said- "Where was Guru Gobind Singh born? Patna Bhaiya, Bihar. You say that you will not let the people of Bihar come. So, will you insult Guru Gobind Singh too?"

Let me tell you that a video of Channi is going viral on social media. Chief Minister Channi is present with Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi. Because of this, he says that Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi ke Bhaiya can't come and rule here. Then, the people present there start clapping. Priyanka Gandhi herself claps. At the same time, chief minister Channi's statement has also been attacked by opposition parties. On Channi's statement, Arvind Kejriwal said that it is very shameful. We strongly condemn the comments made with the aim of any individual or a particular community. Priyanka Gandhi also belongs to Uttar Pradesh, that too is 'Bhaiya.'
