New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to the US elected President Joe Biden on Tuesday. It is being told that the leaders of the two countries pledged to the bilateral strategic partnership in the talks. Both also discussed about the Covid-19 epidemic, climate change and cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region. The two leaders have spoken for the first time after Biden won the presidential election in America. PM Modi has told about this in a recent tweet.

He tweeted and wrote, "Spoke to US President-elect @JoeBiden on phone to congratulate him. We reiterated our firm commitment to the Indo-US strategic partnership and discussed our shared priorities and concerns - Covid-19 pandemic, climate change, and cooperation in the Indo-Pacific Region.' PM Modi has also congratulated the elected Vice President of America Kamala Harris. PM told him, 'His success is a matter of pride and inspiration for the Indian American community. This community is an important source of strength of Indo-US relations.'

A statement has also been issued by the Prime Minister's Office, in which it is said, 'Modi congratulated Biden on the victory in the election and called it a sign of the strengthening of America's democratic tradition. PM Modi recalled his meeting with Biden during his official visits to the US in 2014 and 2016. In 2016, when Modi addressed the joint session of the US Congress, it was chaired by Biden. The two leaders agreed to work together to expand the India-US overall global strategic partnership. The two leaders discussed the prevention of COVID-19, promoting the availability of affordable vaccines, climate change and cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region.
