New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to deliver the inaugural address today at the Ministry of Defence's post-budget webinar on 'Aatmanirbharta in Defence - Call to Action.'
According to an official announcement from the Ministry of Defence, the Union Budget 2022-23 has given Aatmanirbharta in Defense even more momentum. The Ministry of Finance has organised a post-budget webinar titled "Aatmanirbharta in Defence - Call to Action" to discuss the defence budget announcements. The goal of the webinar is to get all stakeholders involved in moving forward with the government's numerous defence projects.
On Friday morning, there will be a webinar. In a statement, the ministry noted, "The Prime Minister will deliver the inaugural address." Panel talks with notable speakers and specialists from the Ministry of Defence, the defence sector, industry fora, startups, and academics will be held during the webinar, as well as interactive sessions with stakeholders.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will preside over the closing ceremony. The webinar will feature breakout sessions on topics such as increasing the capital procurement budget for domestic industry (Opportunities and Challenges), developing an all-round defence R&D ecosystem in the country, Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) by industries in collaboration with DRDO and other organisations, and meeting wide-ranging testing and certification requirements by establishing an independent nodal umbrella body.
