New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet economists in the country in the evening to discuss the budget. On the pretext of the Budget, PM Modi will discuss the issues of the country's declining economy and farmers. The economy has fallen badly during the second term of the NDA Government. Between January-March, the country's growth rate has reached 5.8 per cent.

The meeting will be held in the NITI Aayog. Ahead of the meeting, the Commission has divided economists and sector experts into different teams. These people will give their presentation to the Government one by one.  Infrastructure, agriculture and unemployment are the main issues that will be brainstormed and presented at the meeting. It will suggest to the government how it can work out a strategy on these issues.

This is for the first time that the Central Government has released the unemployment figure. Unemployment in FY 2017-18 was 6.1 per cent, the highest in the last 45 years (after 1972-73). Earlier, a newspaper had also leaked the same data. According to the report, the unemployment rate in rural areas was 5.3 percent and in urban areas 7.8 percent. Similarly, 6.2 per cent of men across the country have no employment, while 5.7 per cent of women are unemployed.
