PM Modi to Launch Development Projects Worth Rs 83,300 Crore for Tribal Upliftment in Jharkhand

Ranchi: On October 2, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Hazaribag, Jharkhand, to lay the foundation stone and inaugurate various developmental projects worth more than Rs 83,300 crore. The event is scheduled for 2 PM, and the projects span across numerous sectors benefiting tribal communities.

As per the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), this initiative will impact approximately 63,000 villages in 549 districts across 2,740 blocks in 30 states and Union Territories, directly benefiting over 5 crore tribal people. One of the key programs to be launched is the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan scheme, which has an overall outlay of over Rs 79,150 crore. This scheme is designed to bridge critical gaps in social infrastructure, health, education, and livelihoods through 25 focused interventions led by 17 ministries and government departments.

Additionally, PM Modi will inaugurate 40 Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) and lay the foundation stone for 25 more, with a total investment exceeding Rs 2,800 crore. These schools aim to offer high-quality education and residential facilities for tribal students.

The Prime Minister will also unveil several key projects under the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN) with a cumulative value of over Rs 1,360 crore. These include the construction of more than 1,380 kilometres of roads, 120 Anganwadi centres, 250 multipurpose centres, and 10 school hostels.

As part of the achievements under PM-JANMAN, PM Modi will announce major milestones such as the electrification of over 75,800 Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG) households across 3,000 villages, the activation of 275 mobile medical units, the establishment of 250 Van Dhan Vikas Kendras, and providing clean drinking water in over 5,550 PVTG villages under the 'Nal se Jal' program. These projects aim to uplift tribal communities and enhance their access to essential services.
