PM Modi to launch various development projects worth about Rs 41,000 crore in Maharashtra today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will Tuesday launch infrastructure and housing projects worth about Rs 41,000 crore in Maharashtra.During his day-long visit to the state,Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone for two significant metro corridors at a public meeting in Kalyan. They are Thane-Bhiwandi-Kalyan Metro and the Dahisar-Mira-Bhayander Metro in Thane district.

Prime Minister will also launch mass housing scheme worth 18,000 crore rupees which offers around 90,000 reasonably priced homes for economically weaker sections under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). These houses will be constructed by Navi Mumbai town planning authority City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO).

In another event in Pune, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the proposed third metro line between Hinjewadi and Shivajinagar. This project is being executed by the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) on a public-private partnership basis after the new metro policy. Prime Minister Modi will also visit Raj Bhavan in the financial capital of India  Mumbai to release a book titled “Timeless Laxman”, based on the famous cartoonist, RK Laxman.
