Patna: Property ownership scheme to be launched in Bihar as well. PM Narendra Modi will launch it through video conferencing on April 24 on the occasion of National Panchayati Raj Day celebrations. Under the scheme, land survey, mapping will be done in rural areas. People will then be provided with a property card of their property (land and house) which will have complete information related to their land.

With the help of this property card, loan facility will also be available to them in banks. They will have a record of their property. A letter has also been written to the Chief Secretary, Bihar from the Government of India in this regard. It requests the CM, Minister of Panchayati Raj, Minister of Land and Revenue and the concerned higher officer to join the programme online at the event scheduled for April 24. It may be recalled that in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, the scheme has been in place since last year and property cards have been provided to lakhs of people.

The land of the villages under the ownership scheme will be measured through drones. The drone will create a digital map of every property within the boundaries of villages. Panchayati Raj Minister Samrat Chaudhary has informed that on April 24, PM Modi will also reward several Gram Panchayats in various states for their outstanding work. These include several Panchayats in Bihar.
