PM Modi to visit Pune to inaugurate Metro Rail project on Sunday

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Pune on March 6 to inaugurate the Pune Metro Rail Project, which is expected to cost more over Rs 11,400 crore.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister's Office, the PM will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for several development projects. Prime Minister will unveil a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at 11 a.m, on the premises of the Pune Municipal Corporatio,. The 9.5-foot-tall statue is composed of 1,850 kilogrammes of gunmetal.

At around 11:30 a.m., Prime Minister will open the Pune Metro Rail Project. This project aims to provide Pune with world-class infrastructure for urban mobility. On December 24, 2016, the PM lay the foundation stone for the project.

He also dedicate a 12-kilometer section of the 32.2-kilometer Pune Metro Rail Project. The project is estimated to cost more than Rs 11,400 crore in total. He will also visit Garware Metro Station to inaugurate and check the exhibition before taking the metro to Anandnagar Metro Station.

The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for a number of development projects around 12 p.m. He will also lay the foundation stone for the Mula-Mutha River projects' restoration and pollution abatement.
