New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi is scheduled to bid an official farewell to Indian athletes who are going to participate in the Olympics from July 10 to 15 to boost their morale. According to sports ministry sources, the Indian teams will leave after a day of official farewell ceremony.

It has been learnt that the Prime Minister is going to bid an official farewell to the Olympic athletes for their encouragement.  The date of which is yet to be fixed but it will take place some day between 10th and 15th July. Sources said, the function will be held for the sportspersons present in the country who will then leave for Tokyo. He said it will be for players who will go from India to Tokyo. The players who are abroad are going to leave for Tokyo directly.

He further said that in addition to sportspersons, coaches and allied staff, whoever wants to go to Tokyo for the Olympics is going to be allowed as per the requirement. He reiterated that during the Corona period, the Department has decided not to send its delegation to send maximum support staff.
