New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi is scheduled to hold a crucial meeting today i.e. The meeting will be attended by all senior government officials. PM Modi will inspect the preparedness to deal with the cyclone at the meeting. Prime Minister Modi's meeting will be held at 11 am which will be attended by senior officers as well as ndma representatives, telecom secretaries, power, civil aviation and finance science ministers. Home Minister Amit Shah and other ministers will also be present at the meeting.
The cyclonic storm Yaas is likely to reach the coasts of West Bengal-Odisha on the evening of May 26. The Odisha government has sounded a high alert in coastal districts in view of the cyclonic storm Yaas crisis. At the same time, the National Disaster Response Force has started deploying teams in West Bengal and Odisha to get rid of it.
Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik on Saturday directed officials to be careful and ensure that the virus does not spread due to congestion in cyclone shelters. Directing the officers to take steps to protect the lives of the people, Patnaik said, "For every disaster management, our only motto is 'All lives are precious.' Therefore, our most important task at this stage is to take people living in low and sensitive areas to safer places".
