PM Modi to inaugurate 'Defence Complex' for 7000 employees

New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate a new office complex for Defence Ministry employees at two different locations in Delhi on September 16. These Defence Office Complexes have been constructed on Kasturba Gandhi Marg and Africa Avenue Road. The Prime Minister will also interact with the Army, Navy, Air Force and Civil Officers. This was reported by the PMO.

The office complex of the Ministry of Defence has been first constructed under the flagship Central Vista project of the Government of India. PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate the building on September 16. Built for 7,000 personnel, the new Defence Complex has been developed at two different locations. According to the Defence Ministry, the new Defence Complex building has been constructed at Africa Avenue in Lutyens Zone.

In addition, a building has also been constructed on KG Road near India Gate. The two buildings will also shift to CSD canteens including Navy's INS India Naval Station, Armed Force Medical Service Office near South Block. The secretariats of the Ministry of Defence, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Naval Staff in South Block will not be removed yet. A total cost of Rs.775 crore has been incurred on both the buildings constructed on Africa Avenue and KG Marg. The Africa Avenue Building has been constructed in a total of 5 lakh square meters and has 5 blocks. While KG Marg Building 4. It is spread over 52 lakh square meters and has 3 blocks.
