PM Narendra Modi spoke to hospitalised flying Sikh Milkha Singh and asked for his movements. He also wished Milkha Singh a speedy recovery. Milkha Singh was admitted to the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research on Thursday. He was reportedly admitted to the ICU due to falling oxygen level.
PM Modi has expressed hope that he will recover soon and also bless the athletes who will attend the Tokyo Olympics. Milkha Singh had succumbed to covid infection 2 weeks ago. He was on isolation and oxygen support at his home in Chandigarh after being infected. However, he was later admitted to Fortis Hospital in Mohali as a precautionafter his health deteriorated. He was discharged from the hospital on Sunday at the request of the family.
His son Jeev thanked everyone and informed that his father was being paid good attention. Singh's wife Nirmal Kaur is also undergoing corona treatment. According to a medical bulletin issued on Thursday, he is still in ICU. Singh has been awarded the Padma Shri, the country's fourth highest civilian award, for his achievements in the field of sports.
Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh was also wishing the great runner a speedy recovery after the news of his infected on May 24. According to the language, he had tweeted, "Wish for the speedy recovery of Flying Sikh Milkha Singh who has been admitted to a hospital in Mohali for covid-19 treatment. Get healthy quickly, sir.''
