New Delhi: Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the most important and widely celebrated festival of Hindus.It is starting from Thursday and will be celebrated for 10 days with great enthusiasm in all over the nation. Prime Minister Narendra  Modi  wished the country on the occasion of this auspicious occasion on Thursday through his twitter account.

PM Modi is an active twitter user and this time also he used it to wish the people. He wrote “Greetings on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi”.

Ganesh Chaturthi is a festival which is dedicated to Lord of new beginnings, Ganesha. Today, there would be great rush in the markets as devotees will install the deity's idol at home and at elaborate pandals with great enthusiasm. Today people will chant ‘Ganpati Bappa Moriya’ and will worship him for the next ten days. People worship the idol and will organize the different religious and cultural events.

It is a good step as the idol made of Plaster of Paris pollutes the water and harm the marine life.
