New Delhi: On Thursday, Ahead of the Budget Session, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached the Parliament. In his address, the PM confirmed that the Budget will certainly be an Interim Budget and not a vote-on-account. He said that 'Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas' will be the agenda.

PM Modi said that "We are looking forward to discussing every issue." The Prime Minister further state that  "Today, the country is observing the proceedings of the Parliament. The MPs should hold a meaningful debate in this session of the Parliament. We are eager to hold a debate on all important issues." PM Modi has urged all lawmakers to utilise this Budget Session of Parliament for having constructive debates. The PM also mentioned in his address that all citizens closely watch Parliament proceedings and those who do not take interest in discussions, there is anger in society against them.

While, the government will present its last budget on Friday before the general election. Since finance minister Arun Jaitley is in the US for medical reasons, railway and coal minister Piyush Goyal is given additional charge of the finance ministry. Goyal will present the Budget in the Parliament as Interim Finance Minister.

However It is also worth mentioning that the Narendra Modi-led government might roll out a relief package for the agriculture sector in this Budget in an daring attempt to bolster farmers' income and ease distress in the sector ahead of the Lok Sabha polls. The government is also expected to dole out Income Tax benefits, home loan interest benefits in order to woo the middle-class before election.
