New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) conference about the new regime in Afghanistan on the pretext of radicalization and the challenges it faces in the region. In fact, in his address today, PM Modi said, "Recent developments in Afghanistan have made the challenge posed by radicalization more clear. The fight against radicalization is not only essential for regional security and trust but also to ensure a bright future for the youth.''

At the same time, PM Modi also said at the SCO Conference, "This year we are also celebrating the 20th anniversary of SCO. It is a matter of happiness that new friends are joining us on this auspicious occasion. I welcome Iran as the new Member State of the SCO. I also welcome all three new dialogue partners, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Qatar.'' PM Modi further said, "The 20th anniversary of SCO is also an appropriate opportunity to think about the future of this institution. I believe that the biggest challenges in this area relate to peace, security, and trust deficit. And the root cause of these problems is growing bigotry. The recent developments in Afghanistan have made the challenge more clear.''

In his further address, he said, "The SCO should work to develop strong links between liberal, tolerant and inclusive institutions and traditions associated with Islam. At the same time, PM Modi said, "In India and in almost all countries of the SCO, there are liberal, tolerant and inclusive institutions and traditions associated with Islam. SCO should work to develop a strong network between them. In this context, I appreciate the useful work being done by the RATS mechanism of the SCO.''

Moreover, PM Modi said, "If we look at history, we will find that the region of Central Asia has been a stronghold of liberal, progressive cultures and values. Traditions like Sufism flourished here for centuries and spread throughout the region and the world. We can still see their image in the cultural heritage of this region. Whether it is a technology like UPI and RuPay cards to increase financial inclusion, or our Arogya Setu and digital platforms like Cowin in the battle with Corona, we have voluntarily shared all these with other countries as well.''
