New Delhi: Pakistan's PM Imran Khan sent a congratulatory message to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his landslide victory in the Lok Sabha elections. He then wrote a letter on June 8 requesting talks between the two countries. Responding to this, PM Modi has sent a letter to him. In a letter to the Prime Minister, Mr Modi said, relations between the two countries can only improve if Pakistan takes concrete action against terrorism.

In fact, a day before that, India had said that there would be no talks between the two leaders on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Bishkek.  Congratulating Modi for his second term as India's PM, Imran Khan wrote in the letter that dialogue between the two nations is the only solution to help the people of the two countries overcome poverty and that it is necessary for regional development together.
