Voting in Assam-Bengal today, PM Modi urges young generation to vote

New Delhi: Polling for the first phase of assembly elections in West Bengal and Assam has begun. Today, voting is being held for 30 assembly constituencies in 5 districts of Bengal, while voting is taking place for 47 seats in Assam. The Election Commission has extended the voting time this time. While PM Modi has appealed to voters in Assam and Bengal to exercise their franchise, he also urged the youth to vote for all young friends.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has also appealed to the people to participate in the voting fearlessly. The Home Minister said that I appeal to the voters of the first phase of West Bengal to vote fearlessly in maximum numbers to restore the pride of Bengal. One of your votes will realize the creation of great men like Subhash Chandra Bose, Gurudev Tagore, and Shyama Prasad Mukherjee.

In Assam, the first phase of voting is taking place in 47 seats. Assam has a total of 126 assembly seats, out of which 47 seats are being held in the first phase. These seats fall under 12 districts of upper Assam and the north bank of Brahmaputra. In West Bengal, polling is underway in 30 constituencies in Bankura, Purulia, Jhargram, Western and East Midnapore districts.
