Abu Dhabi: After the death of former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, PM Narendra Modi has spoken to Jaitley's family from the United Arab Emirates. Prime Minister Modi has conveyed his condolences to Arun Jaitley's wife and son by phone. Arun Jaitley passed away at 12.07 p.m. on Saturday at Delhi's AIIMS. Prime Minister Modi is currently on a foreign tour. According to the report, Jaitley's family has appealed to PM Modi not to cancel his foreign tour. In a tweet, the PM expressed deep sorrow over Jaitley's demise.

Prime Minister Modi has described The demise of Arun Jaitley as a huge loss and said that a friend had left his life. Pm Modi has written praising his political understanding that I have lost a relationship that I have known for decades. In a series of tweets, Mr Modi wrote how Jaitley stood at the forefront of protecting democracy during the Emergency.

In the past, Arun Jaitley was placed on Extracaroporal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) and Intra-Arotic Balloon (IABP) support. Arun Jaitley was admitted to AIIMS on August 9 due to breathing problems. Several political and social figures have expressed grief on social media as news of his death came to light.
