New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress President Rahul Gandhi are all set to hold public rallies before phase one of the elections in the Naxal-affected region Chhattisgarh today. It is noted that this is the first face-off between the two rival leaders this election season.

Gandhi scion will hold five rallies between November 9 and 10 .He will also be holding a rally as well as a road show in Chief Minister Raman Singh's constituency Rajnandangaon today evening.

On the other hand PM Narendra Modi will be holding a single rally in Jagdalpur on Friday. Congress President will land there on Saturday for a rally. Congress president’s four other rallies over the two days are slated in Kondagaon, Charama, Pakhanjore, and Dongargarh – Notably two of these rallies are in constituencies held by the Congress and two others by BJP.

On a related note the campaign for the Phase 1 polls ends on November 10.

ET reports suggested that, PM Modi will do one rally per division in the poll-bound states. It means that Modi will do about nine to ten rallies in Madhya Pradesh, seven or eight in Rajasthan and about three to four in Phase 2 campaign in Chhattisgarh as well as Telangana.

However, PM Modi campaign in Rajasthan and Telangana will only begin after Madhya Pradesh campaign which ends on November 26.

Congress MP Unit president Kamal Nath has stated that Rahul Gandhi is likely to do another full tour of MP and Rajasthan this month.
