PM Narendra Modi fully utilized Aiyar 'NEECH' statements: Veerappa Moily

Congress party senior leader Veerappa Moily on said Prime Minister Narendra Modi made huge usage of the controversial statements made by his party leaders Mani Shankar Aiyar and Kapil Sibal during the Gujarat polls.

Congress leader Mani shankar Iyer said  previously "Mujhko lagta hai ki ye aadmi bahut neech kisam ka aadmi hai, isme koi sabhyata nahi hai, or aise mauke par is kisam ki gandi rajniti karne ki kya avashyakta hai?" Mani Shankar Aiyar was quoted as saying by news agency.

Mani Shankar Aiyar answered to the question on PM Modi's attack on Rahul Gandhi earlier in the day.While inaugurating the Ambedkar International Centre in the national capital, PM Modi had taken a shot at Rahul Gandhi's comment on being a Shiva devotee and had said some parties talked more of Baba Bhole (Lord Shiva) than Babasaheb.In a broadside against the Congress party and Rahul Gandhi, who is filed his name to become party president, PM Modi had said political parties who seek votes in the name of Ambedkar were perhaps not even aware that the project of Ambedkar International Centre was pending.

Veerappa Moily statement comes after he alleged that Aiyar's and Sibal's controversial remarks may have undone the gains made by the Congress party president Rahul Gandhi during campaigning in the Gujarat elections.

Veerappa Moily also said the Congress' performance in Gujarat, particularly under the Rahul Gandhi's leadership was par distinction."To an extent, their statements did cause damage to the party during the Gujarat polls. Prime Minister Narendra Modi made maximum use of their statements,"  said by Veerappa Moily.

In Gujarat, the Bharti Janta Party continued its winning streak by bagging 99 out of 182 seats in the state assembly while, in Himachal Pradesh, the party overthrew Congress from the government by claiming 44 out of 68 seats.
