New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi on Tuesday gave a big gift to the country's farmers. Prime Minister Modi dedicated 35 new seed varieties to the country. Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Modi said, the government is working for the welfare of small donors. Our effort is to directly benefit the givers. He said, "They are working to benefit the farmers directly without any middlemen.''

The same 35 new crop varieties that have been introduced include a drought-tolerant variety of chickpea, wilt and sterility mosaic resistant pigeon pea, early maturing variety of soybean, disease-resistant varieties of rice and biofortified varieties of wheat, pearl millet, maize and chickpea, quinoa, buckwheat, winged bean and fava bean. On this occasion, Prime Minister Modi discussed with the farmers who are cultivating in a new way. He said the government has provided improved seeds to the food donors. Soil health card, availability of fertilizers, records have been purchased on MSP. Crop varieties with specific traits have been developed by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research.

The same seed market has tried to provide all assistance to the donors. He explained the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi. PM dedicates the national biotic stress management campus to the nation. The National Institute of Biological Stress Management at Raipur has been set up to conduct basic and strategic research in biological stress, develop human resources and provide policy support. The Institute has started PG courses from the academic session 2020-21. In a discussion with a farmer from Uttarakhand, PM Modi asked, "What is the benefit of the new method of farming that you have adopted?" The farmer said that in Devbhoomi he started cultivating maize in a new way.
