The festival of Navratri is celebrated four times a year, with two Navratris being direct and two intrigues.

Sharadiya Navratri is considered to be a symbol of the victory of truth over prevarication. It is found in the scriptures related to mythology. According to a legend, Mother Durga killed a demon named Mahishasura, who pleased Brahmaji with his penance and asked for a boon that no god, demon or earthly person could kill him. After Brahma Ji's blessings, he started creating terror on earth. Goddess Durga appeared for the killing of Mahishasura. There was a fierce battle between Mother Durga and Mahishasura for nine days and on the tenth day, Mother Durga killed Mahishasura.
