Hangzhou, Today, for the first time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met new British Premier Theresa May and also held discussions on enhancing bilateral ties in the aftermath of UK's decision to exit the 28-member European Union.
The discussions were here held by both the leaders on the sidelines of the G20 summit here on building opportunities after the UK voted to leave the EU- the world's single largest market.
External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup took to the twitter and said, "Building opportunities with the United Kingdom. PM @narendramodi meets PM @theresa_may for their first bilateral".
On July 13, May was sworn in as Prime Minister and is the UK's second woman Prime Minister after Margaret Thatcher.
