Chennai: Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu, on Friday, where PM Modi welcomed him. Tamil Nadu CM EK Palaniswamy, Governor Banwarilal Purohit and Tamil Nadu Assembly Speaker P Dhanapal welcomed the Chinese President. He is on a nearly 24-hour visit to India for the second informal summit with PM Narendra Modi. A cultural ceremony was also held to welcome the guest President Jinping.

A large number of artists stood in queues carrying colorful flags at the airport to welcome Xi Jinping. They were seen playing drums and dancing to the beat of traditional music. Foreign Minister Wang Yi and China's State Councilor Yang Jiechi have visited India along with Jinping. Both can hold separate talks with their counterparts in India, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.

Chinese President Xi Jinping has reached Mahabalipuram on Friday for a second informal meeting with PM Narendra Modi. PM Modi arrived here in traditional Tamil costumes to welcome Chinese President Xi Jinping. He made Arjuna austerity site, Panch Rath and Shore Temple at Jinping in Mamallapuram and also informed about these places.
