Himachal Pradesh: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in the Himachal Pradesh district of Mandi on Monday to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for hydropower projects costing Rs 11,000 crores. The Sawra-Kuddu Hydropower Project will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister. The 111 MW project cost around Rs 2080 crore to construct. It will generate over 380 million units of energy per year and generate over Rs 120 crore in revenue for the state each year.

According to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the Renukaji Dam project, which has been in the works for nearly three decades. "The project was made feasible by the Prime Minister's vision of cooperative federalism, when the Centre pulled together six states, namely Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and Delhi, to make the project viable," the PMO stated.

The foundation stone for the Luhri Stage 1 Hydro Power Project will also be laid by the Prime Minister. "The 210 MW project will cost about Rs 1800 crore to construct. It will generate about 750 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year. The region's bordering states will benefit from the contemporary and trustworthy grid assistance as well "The PMO stated.
