Osaka: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Turkish President Reab Tayyeb Erdogan met on Saturday and the two leaders discussed a number of key issues including trade and investment, defence and counter-terrorism. The two leaders met in Osaka, Japan this morning on the sidelines of the two-day G20 Summit and held talks on a strong partnership on development between India and Turkey.

According to External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar, the talks between the two leaders were based on trade and investment, defence, counter-terrorism, information technology and civil aviation. The Prime Minister's Office tweeted, "Conversations continue in Osaka. On the sidelines of the G-20 summit, President Erdogan held a successful meeting. The two leaders held talks on a strong development partnership between India and Turkey.

The Turkish leader, during his two-day visit to India in July 2018, assured India of his country's full support in fighting terrorism. Earlier, Prime Minister Modi met the Presidents of Brazil and Indonesia on Saturday on the sidelines of the G20 Summit and discussed enhancing cooperation in trade and investment and enhancing bilateral ties.
