Meerut: After arriving at the foundation stone laying ceremony of Major Dhyan Chand Sports University in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi questioned the players whether they had done the homework I had given or not. The players bowed their heads in silence on PM Modi's question. PM Modi then asked the players with their heads bowed whether they remembered or forgot my work, did it or not. So the player said, "No, sir.'' PM Modi had given homework to the sportspersons of Uttar Pradesh who went to the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympics to go to 75 schools and talk to children while meeting them in Delhi. But none of the players completed the homework given by PM.

In fact, PM Modi met 32 sportspersons from UP at the foundation stone laying ceremony of Khel Vivi in Meerut. It included the Under-19 Boys Hockey team along with Olympians and Paralympics. PM Modi took feedback from Varanasi hockey player Lalit and Noida para jumper Praveen on their homework. Replying to PM Modi's question, Lalit said, "Sir, you had said that after coming from the Olympics, all the sportspersons should go to schools and convey their message to as many children as possible. This was your homework, sir.''

PM Modi had told the players, "This year is the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, 75 years are being completed. You go to 75 schools. All of you should complete this work before going to Paris. Go to school and inform the children about nutrition, fitness, exercise. Today, the children of the country consider you a hero. They are inspired by the players. The position of cinema artists earlier belongs to the players today. Today, if anyone does well in sports, children want to know about it.''

PM Modi told the players that "if both you and your coach have any problem at the sports, resources, practice or psychological level, write to me - you people are in the field, so you know more. You will tell yourself that there should be such tools, such training. Only then will there be an improvement. The government is also in the mood to do something for the players, earlier it was something else. There is a difference between the Government will do it in its own way and do it according to your requirement. So, let us know.''
