Varanasi: After inaugurating the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor project in his Lok Sabha constituency Varanasi on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered prayers to Sant Ravidas in Varanasi.
Following PM Modi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath prayed to Sant Ravidas. After lunch with the employees working in the construction of the Kashi Vishwanath Dham Corridor, PM Modi had a boat trip from Lalita Ghat to Ravidas Ghat with UP CM Yogi Adityanath.
The Prime Minister inaugurated phase 1 of the Kashi Vishwanath Dham project in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, which cost roughly Rs 339 crore to build. Phase 1 of the project will see the opening of 23 structures. Pilgrims visiting Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple will have access to a range of services, including Yatri Suvidha Kendras, Tourist Facilitation Centre, Vedic Kendra, Mumukshu Bhavan, Bhogshala, City Museum, Viewing Gallery, and Food Court, among others.
During the project's development, the Prime Minister's objective was to ensure that all heritage structures were protected. This insight proved useful when more than 40 ancient temples were found during the demolition of old homes.
