New Delhi: Today is the 350th birth anniversary of the tenth Sikh guru and founder of Khalsa Guru Gobind Singh, which is also known as Prakash Parv. Speaking on the occasion, PM Narendra Modi pays tribute to Guru Gobind Singh and said his life was dedicated to building an equitable and inclusive society.

In a tweet, PM Modi said, "I bow to Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji on the pious occasion of his Parkash Purab. His was a life devoted to creating a just and inclusive society. He was unwavering when it came to upholding his principles. We also recall his courage and sacrifices." PM Modi further added that he has received a blessing from Guru Gobind Singh. He has said that he is very fortunate because the opportunity to celebrate his 350th Prakash Parv has come during his tenure. Recalling the celebrations of Guru Gobind Singh's 350th Prakash Parv at Patna Sahib in 2017, he said he had the opportunity to pay homage to Guru Sahib there too.

Guru Gobind Singh was born on this day in Patna. His birth anniversary is celebrated as Prakash Parv. He had four sons whom he had abandoned to protect religion and was killed at a very young age. Guru Gobind Singh founded Khalsa in 1699. He had also given Khalsa Vani 'Vahe Guru Ji da Khalsa Wahe Guru Ji Di Fatah'.
