Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reportedly meet with as many as seven COVID-19 vaccine manufacturers today (October 23.). The development comes mere days after India marked a historic landmark, having administered one billion vaccine doses.
According to reports, the Prime Minter will be holding a meeting with representatives from Serum Institute of India, Bharat Biotech, Zydus Cadila, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, Biological E, Gennova Biopharma and Panacea Biotech. More details are awaited.
It was on October 21  that India achieved a major milestone in its vaccination programme against COVID-19 as the cumulative vaccine doses administered in the country surpassed the 100-crore mark, resulting in celebratory events across various parts. Over 75 per cent of India's adult population has received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, with nine states and union territories administering the first dose to all eligible people.
