New Delhi: The tenure of 72 MPs from Rajya Sabha, the upper house of Parliament, ends today. These leaders include many big names like Kapil Sibal, P. Chidambaram, Jairam Ramesh and AK Antony. Along with this, BJP leader Subramanian Swamy has also retired. During this, PM Narendra Modi said during his farewell speech in the Upper House that I wish that all of you come back to the House.
Prime Minister Modi said, 'Our Rajya Sabha MPs have a long experience. Sometimes experience is more important than academic knowledge. I will ask the retiring members to come back.' PM Modi said that we have spent a lot of time together in Parliament. This House has made a significant contribution to our lives, much more than what we have done for it. He said that as members of this House, the MPs get experience from all four directions of the country.
During this, veteran Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge said that I and the Congress party are losing a lot. He said that I had always learned in foreign affairs from Anand Sharma in the House. Kharge said AK Antony did not speak much, but his advice has always been important. He said that AK Antony did a lot of work, but never took credit for those things.
