New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has termed the General Budget for the financial year 2022-23 as the budget of the country's poor, youth and middle class. On the focus on infrastructure in the budget, PM Modi said that when a poor person is connected with basic amenities, he uses his energy for the development of the country. The objective of this budget is also to provide basic amenities and permanent means of income to the poor, youth and middle class of the country.

PM Modi today interacted with BJP workers through a video conference on the budget. In the election atmosphere, he also urged the workers to take the nuances of the budget to the common people of the country. Referring to the scheme of providing pucca housing to the poor of the country in his address, PM Modi said, "A dream of the poor is to have his own house. Therefore, this year's budget has set a target of constructing 80 lakh pucca houses for the poor. It will cost around Rs 50,000 crore."

Talking about his childhood memories, PM Modi said, "When I was young, it used to think to be a big a millionaire. It was as if there were a different world. But if we look at the expense of all the people to whom we have given houses in the last 7 years, we have made them 'lakhpati' by giving these houses to 3 crore people. At present, we have also increased the amount for these houses as compared to before and their size has also been increased so that there is a place to study for the children. Most of these houses are in the name of women."
