NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address the Mann Ki Baat programme on the radio once again after recording a landslide victory in the Lok Sabha elections. On February 24, a few days before the Lok Sabha elections were announced, PM Modi had announced not to have a "Mann ki Baat" programme in March and April.

Remarkably, while reassuring of his return, PM Modi had said that he would return with his radio programme on the last Sunday of May. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has returned to power with an overwhelming majority in the Lok Sabha elections and PM Modi took oath as Prime Minister on May 30.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to raise the issue of women empowerment in today's programme.  In his first term since forming the government in 2014, PM Modi has addressed the nation 53 times through his monthly 'Mann Ki Baat'. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has returned home on Saturday after attending the G20 Summit in Japan, where he held bilateral talks with top leaders of several countries.
