New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi is going to give a big gift to the farmers of the country today. He will dedicate 35 special varieties of the crop to the farmers of the country through video conferencing at 11 am. This is considered crucial in trying to create public awareness to adopt climate-resilient technologies. These special varieties of crops have been prepared by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research.

According to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), crop varieties will be launched by PM Modi at an all-India event organized by PM Modi through video conferencing at all Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICMR) institutions, state and Central Agricultural Universities and Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK). An official release by the PMO said that during the event, the Prime Minister will also dedicate to the country the newly constructed campus of the National Institute of Biotic Stress Tolerance, Raipur. PM Modi will distribute green campus awards to agricultural universities on the occasion, as well as discuss with farmers who use innovative methods and address the gathering. Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel will also be present on the occasion.

State that crop varieties with special symptoms have been developed by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICMR) to withstand the double whammy of climate change and malnutrition. 35 such crop varieties with special symptoms such as climate resilience and high nutrient content have been developed in 2021.
