New Delhi: PM Modi will inaugurate the statue of Swami Vivekananda in the campus of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) located in the capital of the country today. The PMO has given information in this regard. Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank will also be present in this unveiling program to be held through video conference. During the demonstration in JNU, the students there burnt saffron flag under this idol and wrote against Hinduism.

The statement issued by the PMO said that the principles and messages of Swami Vivekananda still guide the youth of the country and India is proud that such a great person born here would inspire millions of people around the world even today.  According to the statement, 'PM Modi has always been saying that the ideals of Swami Vivekananda which were relevant during his lifetime are still today.' PM Modi has always emphasized that by serving the people and strengthening the youth, the country becomes physically, mentally and spiritually strong and this also increases the global credibility of the country.

According to the statement, PM Modi says that the prosperity and power of India lie in its people and only by empowering all, will the country achieve the goal of self-reliant India. For this, information has also been provided on PM Modi's Twitter handle. PM Modi wrote on the tweet, 'Today at 6:30 pm, I will share my thoughts after inaugurating a statue of Swami Vivekananda in JNU campus. The event will be conducted through video conferencing. I am waiting for this evening's program.'
