Kolkata: PM Narendra Modi will visit the severely affected West Bengal by the Amphan storm. PM Modi will reach Bengal on Friday to assess the damage in the southern part of the state. Prime Minister Modi will arrive at Kolkata Airport at 10.30 am. After this, PM Modi and Mamata Banerjee will conduct an aerial survey of the affected areas of North and South 24 Parganas including Kolkata.

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee had requested PM Modi to visit the state. Accepting the appeal of CM Mamata, PM Modi will go on a tour of Bengal and inspect the situation. Cyclone Amphan has also caused a lot of damage in Odisha. However, there has been less loss in the proportion of Bengal. According to the tweet of the Prime Minister's Office, PM Modi will look after the damage done in Odisha.

PM Modi himself is keeping an eye on the states affected. He tweeted "I am looking at the pictures of the devastation in West Bengal. This is a very difficult time, the whole country stands shoulder to shoulder with West Bengal at this time. We wish for the betterment of the people of the state. Efforts are on to normalize the situation."
