New Delhi: The country is celebrating the anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas today. On the 21st anniversary of Victory Day, the entire nation is remembering the indomitable valor and sacrifice of the brave sons of India. On this occasion, PM Narendra Modi, Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and President Ram Nath Kovind have paid tributes to the soldiers who were martyred in the Kargil war.

On the occasion of Victory Day, PM Modi tweeted, "On Kargil Vijay Diwas, we remember the courage and determination of our armed forces, who steadfastly protected our nation in 1999. Their valour continues to inspire generations. Will speak more about this during today’s #MannKiBaat, which begins shortly."

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh paid tributes to the martyrs at the National War Memorial. He was accompanied by Union Minister of State for Defense Shripad Naik and Chief of the three Services. During this, he said that the sacrifice of the brave soldiers who won the victory of Kargil will always serve as a source of inspiration for us.

Rajnath Singh released a video message on Twitter saying that "Kargil Vijay Divas is not just a day, but a victory celebration of valor and sacrifice of the Indian Army." Whatever we do in the realm of national security, we do it for self-defense, not to attack anyone. If the enemy country ever attacked us, we also proved that like Kargil, we will give him a befitting reply. ''
