UTTARAKHAND: India Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to flag off Uttarakhand's first Vande Bharat Express train tomorrow, May 25 via video conferencing.

The Moradabad Railway Division's Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (DCM), Sudhir Singh, said that the train will run between Dehradun and New Delhi.

Pushkar Singh Dhami, the chief minister of Uttarakhand, would also be present at the Vande Bharat Express train's inaugural ceremony at the Dehradun railway station, Singh added.

Earlier on May 18, Prime Minister Narendra Modi  flagged off the Vande Bharat Express between Puri and Howrah via video conferencing.
The ultra-modern semi-high-speed train has state-of-art amenities for passengers.

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated that PM Modi has set a target that Vande Bharat should reach nearly all the states by June of this year following the introduction of Odisha's maiden Vande Bharat train.

"PM Modi has set a target that Vande Bharat should reach almost all the states by June," Vaishnaw stated in Howarh. The Vande Metro is intended for everyday passenger transit over shorter distances (under 100 km).

An indigenously made, semi-high-speed, self-propelled train set is called the Vande Bharat Express. Modern passenger facilities on the train make for a speedier, more comfortable, and more convenient ride for passengers.

Vande Bharat Express, also known as Train 18, is an indigenous semi-high-speed train in India. It was designed and manufactured by the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai, under the 'Make in India' initiative of the Indian government. The train was named Vande Bharat Express to symbolize the spirit of a self-reliant India.

Vande Bharat Express is known for its modern features and speed. It is India's first semi-high-speed train with a top speed of 180 km/h (112 mph). The train is equipped with state-of-the-art amenities, including automatic doors, GPS-based passenger information system, onboard Wi-Fi, infotainment system, and comfortable seating arrangements.

The train was initially introduced on the Delhi-Varanasi route, covering a distance of approximately 780 kilometers. It significantly reduced travel time between the two cities, completing the journey in about 8 hours compared to the 13-14 hours taken by conventional trains. The success of Vande Bharat Express led to the introduction of more trains in different parts of the country.

Vande Bharat Express represents a major technological advancement in the Indian railway system and showcases the country's capability to manufacture high-quality, high-speed trains domestically. It aims to provide passengers with a comfortable, efficient, and enjoyable travel experience while promoting the vision of a self-reliant and modern India.
