Poco F1 is launched this month by Xiaomi. Actually, this is the first handset of the company's new sub-brand Poco. In the market, it has been launched as an affordable handset coming up with a very powerful power processor. However, Poco F1 has a very significant decrease, so many multimedia users will be disappointed. It does not come with Widevine L1 DRM support, which is needed to play HD video on platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Google Play. It comes with Widevine L3 support only capable of playing standard definition (SD) content.
Sources have personally confirmed this shortcoming, which was first reported by Android Pure. Netflix titles with Widevine L1 supporters show the HD icon on the phone. There is no icon in the standard not supported. Looks like this was seen on Poco F1. Due to the Widevine L3, video was playing at just 540 pixels resolution on Netflix.
Google's Android platform supports ClearKey, Microsoft Playready, and many DRMs. However, Widevine is the most used in streaming service. With the help of Widevine, the theft of content is prevented from these platforms. This reduction was also revealed in OnePlus 5T in December last year. According to the report of Android Pure, it will not be possible to overcome this shortcoming through software updates.
Xiaomi Poco F1 price in India
In the market, the 6 GB RAM of Shaomi Poko F1 and 64 GB storage variants will be sold for Rs 20,999. On the other hand, the price of 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage variant will be Rs 23,999. The phone's 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage variants will be sold for Rs. 28,999. The smartphone has a polycarbonate back. It will be available in Rosso Red, Steel Blue and Graphite Black Color. In addition, an Armored Edition of Poco F1 is also offered which costs Rs 29,999.
