Warsaw:  Authorities in Poland have initiated a thorough investigation into a distressing outbreak of Legionnaires' disease within the city of Rzeszow, situated close to the Ukrainian border.

The outbreak has regrettably led to the loss of seven lives and has necessitated hospitalization for 113 individuals. The majority of those affected fall within the age bracket of 60 years and older.

Legionnaires' disease is a severe form of pneumonia brought on by the Legionella bacteria. This bacterium thrives in warm water environments, such as cooling towers, hot tubs, and air conditioning systems.
