New Delhi: After the violence between police and lawyers in Tis Hazari Court, policemen have come down to protest. On Tuesday, despite the appeal of Commissioner Amulya Patnaik, the policemen protested outside the police headquarters shouting slogans. The soldiers shouted slogans and said, Police commissioner Kese Ho Kiran Bedi Jese Ho. Actually, this happened even when Kiran Bedi was DCP.

The incident is dated 17 February 1988 when lawyers had arrived at DCP Kiran's office. Meanwhile, there was an argument over something which turned into a clash, due to uncontrollable crowd, the situation became such that Kiran Bedi had to go for lathicharge. The impact made was that the lawyers shut down all courts of Delhi. However, a Justice was there, who had opened his court and hear the verdict.

Referring to the ruckus on 17 February 1988, former Delhi High Court Judge SN Dhingra says that the situation had become uncontrollable on that day due to the lawyers in the DCP office, in such a situation lathicharge had taken place. He said that unless the situation is uncontrolled, no police officer does lathi charge.
