Uganda: 25 people were killed in a terrorist attack on a school by Daesh-affiliated militants in western Uganda close to the border with the Democratic Republic of the Congo, according to Ugandan police on Saturday.
Assaulting Lhubirira secondary school in Mpondwe late on Friday, members of the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), a Ugandan organisation with a base in eastern Congo that has sworn allegiance to Daesh, looted food and set a dormitory on fire, according to police.
"25 bodies have so far been pulled out of the school and taken to Bwera Hospital. Eight victims were also found; they are still in critical condition at Bwera Hospital, according to Ugandan police on Twitter.
The number of schoolchildren who died was not disclosed by the police.

Police added that soldiers were pursuing the attackers who had run off in the direction of the Democratic Republic of the Congo's Virunga National Park.

At least 20 people were killed when the ADF attacked a village in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo in April.
To aid in the fight against the ADF, Uganda has sent troops to the Congo.
