Muzaffarpur: 16 children who were being taken for wages from Muzaffarpur in Bihar to Amritsar in Punjab were taken into custody by GRP Muzaffarpur from Karmabhoomi Express (12407). Along with this, the criminal contractors who were taking them have also been arrested. The seized children belong to different districts. All the brokers arrested there are residents of North Dinajpur, Katihar, Khagaria, and Madhubani in West Bengal. GRP police station in-charge has given this news.

Rail Station President Dinesh Kumar Sahu told that under the joint checking campaign of RPF and GRP at Muzaffarpur railway station, when train number 12407 Karmabhoomi Express stood at Muzaffarpur railway station platform number 2, it was seen that some children were scared in the general bogie of the train and were pointing to 5 persons.

In such a situation, on the basis of suspicion, five people along with 16 children were taken off at Muzaffarpur railway station platform number 2. During interrogation, all the children told that the five persons were taking them to Amritsar by luring them with some money to get them work. The arrested criminals include Renu Sinha age 34 years, Inkaru Singh age 35 years, Mohammad Farukh age 26 years, Hiralal Sada age 26 years, and Mithilesh Kumar Yadav age 26 years. While the 16 rescued children have been handed over to Railway Child Helpline Muzaffarpur for safekeeping. Further action is being taken into the matter.
